Connector
An added to your claude.ai account. See what it is, how it works, how it is used and what to watch for, with pictures and examples.
What it is
A connector is an you add to your claude.ai account instead of setting it up inside . When you sign in to Claude Code with that claude.ai account, your connectors show up automatically. They appear in /mcp next to the servers you added on your own computer. This way you set up a service once and use it in both places.
How it works
-
Add the server in claude.ai settings
-
Sign in to it in claude.ai
-
Log in to Claude Code with claude.ai
-
Find it in /mcp
How to use it
-
/mcplists connectors with a mark that they come from claude.ai, and lets you turn one on or off for this project.
-
/statusshows which sign-in method is active when a connector does not appear.
-
disableClaudeAiConnectorsa setting that turns off the connectors Claude Code fetches from claude.ai.
-
deniedMcpServersblocks one connector by name, for example
claude.ai Slack.
Watch out
Connectors load only when you are signed in with a claude.ai subscription; with an or a provider such as they do not appear. On Team and Enterprise plans only admins can add them, and an organization can set a tool to ask every time or block it completely. If you also added a server with the same in Claude Code, your one wins and the connector is hidden.
