Cloud session
A session that runs in the , not on your computer. See what it is, how it works, how it is used and what to watch for, with pictures and examples.
What it is
A session is a session that runs on a computer in the cloud instead of on your own machine. By default manages that computer, and each session gets its own . Because it does not depend on your laptop, the work keeps going after you close the lid, and you can check on it or steer it from your phone or another . It is handy for long tasks, for you have not cloned, and for running several tasks at the same time.
How it works
-
Connect your account once
-
Start a task from web or
-
Cloud computer clones your repository
-
Check progress from any device
How to use it
-
claude.ai/codestart a cloud session in the browser; the tab of the mobile app works the same way
-
claude --cloud "Fix the flaky test"send a new task from your terminal; the cloud copies your from GitHub, so push first
-
Desktop app — choose Cloud instead of Local when you start a session
-
Several
--cloudcommands — each one starts its own session, so the tasks run side by side
Watch out
A cloud session clones your code from GitHub, not your local folder, so commits you have not pushed are not there. It counts toward the same usage limits as the rest of your Claude plan. To reach a session that runs on your own computer from another device, use Remote Control instead.
